I’m Nasima Sarwar, a Malay language speaker, born and bred in Malaysia.

I am also a certified professional English-Malay translator.

I earned my Diploma in Translation from Dewan Bahasa and Pustaka, Malaysia’s foremost authority on the Malay language. Certification is an assurance that you’re getting a professional who has sound knowledge of translation theory, principles and techniques.

I have been speaking and writing formal and informal Malay and English throughout my education life and 15-year professional career.

My bilingual language ability enables me to translate a wide range of documents from English to Malay and Malay to English, focusing on niche areas in IT (Information Technology), HR (Human Resources) and Business due to my vast work experience in these fields.

Two of my most reliable software tools include Trados Freelance, a translation memory software and DewanEja 3000, an online Malay spellchecker to guarantee quality and accuracy of translation. I possess a large collection of English-Malay and Malay-English glossaries, dictionaries and on-line resources covering more than 50 topics as references too. In fact, I can translate up to 2,500 words per day (about 8 to 10 A4-sized pages).

To help me with my work, I rely on top-of-the-line technology tools – a desktop PC, laptop, laserjet printer, CD writer, facsimile, combo drive and broadband connection at 100 Mbps. Moreover, I can handle various file formats such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, xml, html, zip, pdf, tif, gif and rtf.
